]]>Sunlight illuminates a ladder inside an ancient (reconstructed) Kiva, or ceremonial structures built by the Ancestral Puebloans.

The exact use of of these structures is not known. Some theories are that the Ancestral Puebloans used them conduct healing ceremonies or to pray for rain, luck in hunting, or good crops. They are usually partially or totally subterranean.

]]>This Hidden Ruin is a man-made stone circle of prehistoric origin located in Canyonlands National Park, near Moab, Ut. What this site was used for by ancient peoples is still under debate.

This site's location is unadvertised by the National Park Service in order to protect this irreplaceable cultural resource. The trek is on an unmarked trail and requires good route finding skills, steady feet and should not be attempted by those suffering from Acrophobia (fear of heights.)
