Pectol's Pyramid (Horizontal)
Three basalt rocks frame Pectol's Pyramid in Utah's Capitol Reef National Park. They seem wildly out of place among the white and pink sandstone of the waterpocket fold.
Geologists think the volcanic rocks originated 20 mya in an area west of Capitol Reef National park and were deposited by volcanic activity.
